So this is a REALLY BIG week in Valentine NE.  We have the 125th Annual Cherry County Fair and Rodeo going on.  There will be activities all over town.  Last week the horse show was held as was the Cherry County Queen Contest.  Congrats going out to 2011 Miss Cherry County Rodeo Queen Kaitlyn Reece and Runner up Lexi Wescott!  Tonight's activities will be the parade.  Look out for the Girls in The Back Float!  That will be us! The bands will be playing, the horses will be prancing, and the cars will be shined up.  Kid's, don't forget your buckets or sacks cuz there will be stuff for you!  Tomorrow, everybody will be coming to town to enter their stuff in the fair.   You can see pickles, cakes, tomatoes, chickens, pigs, and some of the most incredible hand made quilts you will ever see!  There are activities for everyone, including a cook off, putt putt golf, water melon feed, mutton buston, and so much more!  Thursday will be the open show judging and Friday will be the 4-H and FFA judging.  Saturday will be the beef show and kids ranch rodeo along one of the most amazing thing to see is the team fitting contest.  Rodeo performance will be Friday and Saturday night at 7:30pm.  SpurRadio.com will be announcing the rodeo LIVE!  Sunday will be the Ranch Rodeo and Tractor Pull.  So join us in Valentine for a great time!

Also, this week school started!  All the kids are headed back to that dreadful place and parents are having a party in the streets!  Be careful driving thru town while we all get use to the kids walking too and from school.  And of course good luck to all the area athletes as they get started on their seasons!
