Classic does not mean dull.  It means that the thing being talked about transcends fads, trends, and can get along with everybody.  The Carson jean is a classic with dark rinse denim and simple back pocket stitch.  It is just waiting for your personal touch of funk.  Funk, not flair.  Flair is cheesy and cheesy does not mesh well with classic.
